‌'Even since the beginning of Corona, e-commerce has grown to a huge customer base. E-commerce entrepreneurs have also increased. However, the number of e-commerce subscribers has increased in urban areas, at the same rate as in urban areas, but not in rural areas. Grameen e-commerce can make a big contribution to the economy. At a joint seminar on 'Policy Conference for Development of Rural E-Commerce' organized by the Business Promotion Council and the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) on Tuesday (June 6), stakeholders in the sector expressed such optimism. Zahiduzzaman Saeed, Vice-Chairman, Rural e-Commerce Standing Committee of e-Cab and Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Commerce were present as the chief guest at the seminar. An Upazila or a village will be made to work for e-commerce in collaboration with e-Cab on behalf of BPC. Special Guest Business Promottion Council (BPC) Coordinator and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce Md. Abdur Rahim Khan said, “On behalf of BPC, we will support e-Cab. To do a case study, where an Upazila or village will work for complete e-commerce. We will cooperate in making it. This will work in a way that encourages other villages. Rezwanul Haque Jami, head of e-commerce at a2i, said there was still a huge gap between e-commerce in urban and rural areas. But looking at e-commerce transactions, e-commerce customers have grown in the city and they are buying city products. The growth rate of e-commerce has been in urban areas but not in rural areas. I have seen a lot of publicity outside the country for the promotion of e-commerce. If it contributes to the economy of the country. I think e-commerce is contributing to the country's economy. If rural e-commerce is developed, it will increase even more, said Junaid Ahmed, vice-chairman of e-Cab's rural e-commerce standing committee. E-commerce still has many more opportunities to work on the development of new sectors. But buyers and sellers should all get along well with everyone. Ibrahim Khalil, chairman of the e-Cab's rural e-commerce standing committee, explained what kind of problems he faced when he went to the buyer as a delivery man.
